Where East Lake meets Oakhurst, newly constructed modern summons $600K
Oh, it’s a white modern house on Curbed? Dreamy, luxury, designer, enticing… I don’t get the love affair with bland moderns. Atlanta has more than enough variety in its housing stock not to have to post the same house, with the same finishes, with the same description every other day.
Wedged between new towers, Midtown mansion hits market on West Peachtree
Sad to see it – this one actually has architectural interest worth saving. I saw 2 or 3 houses over on Juniper between Einstein’s and Joe’s with building permit notices posted, too. It’ll be a complete eradication of any evidence Midtown was once grand residences. The Rufus M. Rose house, 768 Juniper St, and the house caddy-corner to this one seem like their days are numbered, as well.
After surprisingly minimalistic renovation, 1940s Buckhead classic fancies $3.25M
The flooring appears to be the original – it’s unevenly gapped throughout, with the exception of some areas upstairs. As would be expected, the larger boards are in the entertaining areas and the thinner widths are saved for bedrooms and other living areas. It’s still a shame to have essentially whitewashed the wood, though. If I had to venture a guess, I’d say all the floors and trim were all the color they left the banister.
Rarely available Inman Park Victorian from 1890s is truly grand at $1.25M
I only know of a few that’ve been recombined. I wonder if we’ll see more of that in the future as those older conversions hit critical age for renovations.
