The city wants to stop builders from cutting off "wildlife corridors" traveled by mountain lions and other animals in the Santa Monica Mountains. A law now being drafted would require developers to make sure projects don't constrain the creatures.
On top of gripes about train car crowding, the Expo Line has another issue: lateness. Overall, about 24 percent of of Expo trains were late in June, and during evening rush hour, 35 percent of Expo Line trains were late.
