The part that makes me chuckle is when you say "where are they going to put them" and Ravid responds with a map showing all of the City properties that could be repurposed and then you respond with more bull shit.
PS, the only reason NIMBYs have the ability to be obstructionist is because the local and state laws and regulations that give them the ability to obstruct. It all comes back to the government not actually doing what is necessary to solve this issue.
Thanks for posting this article. The first I’ve seen that acknowledges that landlords are being impacted as much as tenants in some cases. I’m one of the mom and pop landlords mentioned. Living on social security and rent payments. My tenant still has a job and full salary but has stopped paying rent. I have a mortgage that is barely covered by the rent. Not all landlords are the bad guys and not all tenants are the good guys.

Building homes or using hotels is a way to temporarily contain the homeless so authorities can assess the problem of each individual – because homelessness is a symptom of many different types of problems. The greatest strategic issue is perhaps that SO many homeless WANT to be homeless. It’s a lifestyle they have chosen, and they do not want an apartment or a job, and often do not trust city government to give them something – care, shelter, money, etc.
