John Lautner’s Silver Lake residence on the market for $1.6M
MRJIM1 – the home you show with retractable living room wall is the FOSTERCARLINGHOME by Lautner, and yes, there were modifications later in the cantelivered bedroom by adding those clerestory windows but overall the home is in wonderful condition, and a gem. As for kitchen, in those days they were utilitarian, Chicago faucet a must, and meant only for their express purpose. No one perched on a stool sipping Aperol Spritz while the hostess with the mostess conjured up dim sum and sushi. Same for the bedrooms, which were meant for sleeping only not for entertaining, working out or writing the Tales of Genji either. You are great with historic imagery and love your scholarly notes.
