WOOHOO It didn’t pass! After the millions Alagem had spent on the measure – I guess it didn’t help! How many more darn Hotels does BH need already. I live in BH and I am so happy this thing didnt pass.
Now lets wait to see what is going to happen to the old Robinsons May. They defaulted on their bank loans!! LOL
Arts District Rental Lofts Getting Gentrification Makeover
Some people buy homes not only for themselves, but for their children as well. They could pass the properties (paid off) on to their children when they move away or pass away, so the children wouldn’t have to pay thousands of dollars in rent or mortgage every month… just maintenance costs and annual property tax. A property can be passed down for generations and generations.
Has King & Grove Pulled Out of Downtown's Hotel Clark?
Give in already and start paying the unions. Pay their $50/hour demands. But why stop there, let’s pass a law that stipulates everyone who lives in LA will get $50/hour. Then to pay for it we can pass a massive sales tax /renters tax/ immigration tax to pay for it all. I for one sleep better at night knowing the union and their stooges are looking out for LA. Sarcasm.
Watch a Runyon Parking Freakout, Opie's LA Photographs
@Pecan Sandies: It is a public street and they don’t have assigned parking but per my observation of the exchange of words is the douche with the camera sneaked in to steal the parking space while the other man was giving him the right of way to pass but he didn’t pass instead he stole the parking space that the other man was waiting on.
@semprini: Well, as prop 8 proved, you don’t need a supermajority to pilfer civil rights, but you do need one to pass a tax increase.
You also don’t need a supermajority to pass most bond measures, so we’ve made it politically easier to acquire debt than to raise taxes to pay for that debt.
It amazes me that anyone thought that would end in any other way than bankruptcy.
@vokoban: I help confused tourist on daily basis too. They have this look of desperation on their faces after several failed attempts to "tap" their paper pass. I tell them it’s ok to just go pass the gate and directly to the platform. Sometimes they refuse to believe me.
The subway gates are truly one of those "only in LA" story that tourists tell people when they go home.
Regional Connector May Open in Phases With Santa Monica-to-East LA Service First
@Muhlyssa: A Sepulveda Pass connection (either under it or over it) is something Metro has been looking at for a long time. It may come to pass eventually, but it’ll take some serious money. Unfortunately, I don’t know that it would come far enough south to connect to Expo, although it would certainly be nice if it did.
New Paint on Griffith Park Blvd, Median Prettifying in LB
Stop with the snarky remarks. Let it unfold before you pass any judgement. Yes it looks like an 80s building BECAUSE IT WASBUILT IN THE 80s. Lets see how it looks WHEN IT’S FINISHED BEFORE you all pass anymore judgement.
’50s fixer with expansive deck seeks $699K in Franklin Hills
Big SUV’s and trucks are just polluting and wasting gas, they also hog our streets, and especially on the older, windier streets they are a public menace. On my street, there’s plenty of room for two cars to pass, but people regularly stop to allow these giant road hogs to pass. When the nearby school gets out it turns into a massive tangle because some selfish drivers think they have the right to more of the road.
RE: "Disneyland continues to wring out every last dollar from patrons"
What a blatantly false description of the article, which is about people selling individual days of a non-transferable multi-day pass. If you think Disney tickets are too expensive, don’t buy them. Disney has every right to go after people that violate the terms that they implicitly agreed to when they purchased that pass.
