Laurel Canyon house surrounded by trees asking $1.6M
It’s a great looking house but way too much pine wood, Oak and knots for my liking as a main house. I love the green tiling on the first fireplace. Do those matte-green tiles have a name? I’ve seen them used in a lot of Arts and Crafts/Craftsman homes and would like to purchase a box or two from a pottery studio.
Lastly, this property has a custom stained glass door by artist David Scheid and not a single photo to show it. You can kinda see it in one of the hallway photos but C’mon. That should be a highlight!
Why couldn’t hotels built with taxpayer money house LA’s homeless?
The California Republican Party had every chance to remain a viable concern and moderate their message in order to adjust to the reality of the California electorate. Instead, they followed the national party and went hard line. I’d love a fiscal-orientated party that pushes for things like civil service pension reform, smart infrastructure spending and cost-effective approaches to problems like homelessness (barracks not $500k apartments) that isn’t hostile to the environment, gays, immigrants, etc. I mean, why did saying the state’s tax and regulatory burden may be a little high have to come wrapped up with a bunch of anti-gay marriage rhetoric?
Hilltop home made of redwood and glass asking $2.4M in Sherman Oaks
You could say that much of US mid-century residential architecture was Japanese influenced, through the legacy of Frank Lloyd Wright. He went to Japan in 1905 and completed the Robie house in 1909.
L.A.’s Homeless Population Grew 13 Percent Since Last Year’s Count — and Is Likely Already Worse
R-1 isn’t "exclusionary" zoning. Its why people want to live here.
If you can’t afford your rent today, you certainly can’t afford R-1.
Destroying R-1 will not solve anything. ADUs are never going to be rented to at-risk tenants at low prices. Minneapolis already demonstrated what happens with up-zoning R-1 to R-2. No one who owns a single-family home wants that.
Its the multifamily districts that need an overhaul. Visit most any street east of La Cienega with pre-war, dingbats and "Historical" properties – its a hellhole.
LA now has until September to shelter homeless living along freeways
You’ve missed my point and simultaneously dodged the actual question: where are you getting the idea that anybody but the user is paying for weed?
You can continue to dodge if you like.
Though we both may get our information from "they", I purposefully read the primary sources myself (if I’m interested) and I don’t outsource my analysis to some rando author. But you gotta read, and with that reading comprehension problem you often exhibit, that might be a challenge for you.
Perhaps we’d have a better "clue" of how wealthy you were if you divulged your net worth and then we entered it into the net worth percentile calculator together?
Kinda sad to be an old multimillionaire and crying about it, and lying about it, and then saying ‘all my haters must be broke jealous losers!!’ when it’s pointed out
