Notice the photo of two men dressed as women. Although relatively hidden, it lends further evidence of human complexity in the area. Within his sixty year memoir, Harris Newmark relates that prior to the settlement of Prospect (Bunker) Hill, the Aliso Street/Old Aliso Road corridor had been the town’s most fashionable residential area.
Our Favorite Anti-Development Sites: No Robertson Strip Club
I’m pretty sure this community is mostly based north of the 10. As I understand things, the main complaint is the proximity to Hamilton High School – the club is about 1000 feet away and the kids walk past the place to get to and from school. Hey man, I’m all for boobies, but maybe between the traffic problems that definitely exist there and the high school, these people might not be as NIMBY as all that.
People act like this neighborhood is toxic. There are blocks that are and there are blocks that aren’t. This block is fine; I lived there for several years.
However, I also lived in SoMa, on a little street called Moss which had million dollar condos at either end and I found it far more repellant the Hamilton block in the Tenderloin.
Hipsters Back In The Pool: New McCarren Park Pool Images!
It’s sad reading these posts from people that don’t go to public pools. They are marvels of the progressive era and provide public space for everyone amidst rampant privatization. It’s not about a neighborhood it’s a public amenity that’s being brought back for everyone. Go to Hamilton fish, Astoria, etc.. or if you’re a bitter flaming hater that never leaves home go to www.queensmuseum.org/exhibitions/moses.htm
People are dumb not to take advantage of the tip in home prices up in Harlem. Below are develops that are walks away from a park and transportation (10 min to midtown).
Here Komes Karl: Lower East Side Goes Searching for Fischer
Hmm one other note that the entire setting of Flight of the Conchords takes place east of Pitt.
what? no. stop making stuff upâ€â€fotc mostly takes place west of pitt.
i live between attorney and ridge and love that no one goes east of clinton. no hipsters or ibankers at the lovely hamilton fish pool, the library or the east river park!
Despite History, the Highland Park Plant Gets Very Little Love
All you need to know on the fate of this building is that it’s in Highland Park. @Xtian85:
Awesome. I’ve never checked that out. I was just saying, just one example of a MARTA station that’s so under-utilized as an urban node, with so much potential to re-develop immediately next to it. It could rival Decatur.
Hamilton E. Holmes and West Lake also need TOD development. And East Lake, and there is SO much potential for Garnett.
@Chris: The link takes me to a studio with an availability of march 9 2015. Is this bait and switch and your the schill? Or is that place that ugly and gross. Whats the story?
There are some nice picks from the Countess. the Hamilton Hts one is cheap for being new and big.
