Midcentury jewel box by Pierre Koenig in La Cañada Flintridge asking $1.4M
La Canada Flintridge housing sells at a premium because of the exceptional school system. It’s also close to Pasadena and Glendale businesses. Lots of JPL folks live in La Canada Flintridge.
Metro Wants Phase One of Purple Extension to Hit La Cienega
La Brea and La Cienega are good north-south candidates and both should be built (we need a grid system). La Cienega would serve West Hollywood, Beverly Center and Culver City. La Cienega doesn’t make sense for extending Crenshaw — look at a map. Increasing ride time by snaking every which way is not a good way to increase boardings. The Crenshaw alignment should be La Brea, direct to Hollywood.
NFL Talking to Dodgers Owners About Football at Chavez Ravine
@guest #28: Because this is a blog about LA city, not LA county. Big difference. The city of industry may be 20 or so miles from the city of LA, but it seems like light years away. LA county may be part of the metro area, but for most, LA stops at NELA and Boyle Heights and goes west.
Two NFL Teams Sniffing Around Possible Carson Stadium Site
Why would anybody want the Rams to come back? They deserted LA. First to Anaheim, then to St. Louis. I certainly wouldn’t go to one of their games if they came back to LA.
The Raiders only bring the thugs out. Who needs that?
LA is better off without the NFL. Unless there is an expansion team is created for LA, IMO, leave LA alone, football
For a change I will write something sincerely: LA Curbed does a sustained, witty job of covering real estate and architecture in Los Angeles. Yes, much of LA Curbed coverage is derivative—that is, gleaned from other sources. Yet much original reporting goes on, and LA Curbed accomplishes a lot with an economy of words.
The LA Times could do worse than to reprint "the best of LA Curbed" a twice times a week. In fact, they do worse.
Los Angeles is the Ninth Riskiest City in the World
Major Earthquakes near LA usually take place outside the LA basin. To put LA as one region or one place is stupid, the Earthquake danger is generally greatly over stated when you look at history. The LA Baisn is actually a pretty stable place, and the bigger ones in the 7 range are usually in remote places. LA faults have never generated such energy historically.
Fly Over Four Options For the Bullet Train's Route From Burbank to Palmdale
I have two problems with the high speed rail plan. 1) Too many stops. Palmdale? Really? It’s not much of a bullet train if it has to stop every few miles; 2) It’s a state system rather than a regional one. LA to Bay Area, LA to Sac and LA to San Diego, all great. But there should be LA to Vegas and LA to Phoenix as well (without stops at Baker and Barstow).
LA's Luxury Home Market Being Left in the Dust by NYC
Uhhhh, why not use LA COUNTY’s total, not just LA City (or LA City plus Beverly Hills). Outside of Malibu, Beverly Hills, and other incorporated/unincorporated parts of LA County there are also spots like San Marino, La Canada, Bradbury, not to mention Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes Estates/RPV etc. that certainly have a metric fuckton of million plus homes both listed and sold, and undoubtedly some at 10 million plus.
