I think that as the US deficit lowers, and if there is a far better lobbying effort on the part of Metro, Congress would see the benefits of what the transit system has accomplished in L.A. and will fund the 3 mile extension.
Sportsmen's Lodge in Studio City to Be Redeveloped Into a Fancy Shopping Center
What DONT you people get? This is not a shopping mall, this is an outdoor shopping center similar to the Brentwood country mart , Malibu country mart, etc. This is not a huge mall, and it comes up to the street. Not suburban at all. In fact there building a suburban mall in the arts district if that’s the case.
First Look at the Final Part of South Park's Concerto
@Brentwood 4 Life: i wouldn’t be so quick to make that judgement. there’s plenty of wonderful neighborhoods all over the world – LA included – with bland nondescript architecture. design is important but it’s just one of many factors that determine the success of the place. that said, i wish gensler would indeed step up their game here.
Late and Still Colorful Ricardo Legorreta House Asking $16 Million in Beverly Hills
I’ve never seen a Legoretta that I don’t like, so maybe this opinion is slightly biased, but the house is exquisite. Love it – all of it.
But it’s tough to find a big-bucks buyer who wants to live in these houses, I think. Hopefully there’s one out there. The Legoretta on Carmelina in Brentwood never sold and the "Montalban residence" on Oriole was unfortunately remodeled into oblivion. :/
Take a Look Around LA Live's Just-Opened Double Marriott
@Brentwood 4 Life: Nobody ever said Capitalism is a win/win. The city has cracked down on many of the digital billboards, allowing them only in certain areas/zones.
As for the billboard in question on the hotel, I believe it faces away from the 110, so it can only be seen from Olympic, and towards Figueroa.
Dirt Cheap Upper West Side Apartment is Too Good to be True
Southern California home prices and sales improve in November
Southern California’s real estate industry, decimated by the mortgage meltdown and housing bust, is stirring to life again — even making hiring plans — as home prices bounce back.
Find more information about Santa Monica and Brentwood Real Estate Here
I think fair price is $185,000 that way I can move out my mom’s basement and … oh wait I still couldn’t afford it even at that price … plus its not in the kind of neighborhood I deserve to live in anyway. Now if it was in Brentwood, WeHo, a nicer part of Santa Monica and not some place full of gangs, homeless and illegals then I would think of buying it.
The idiots that seem to think that every neighborhood other than Brentwood is "gang infested" never fail to amuse. What complete tools. They should probably move back to wherever they came from, because clearly the big city is too scary for them.
BTW – I hear Paris Hilton lives in a pretty nice neighborhood. How’s that working out for her?
There are and were a lot more trust-funders in places like Brentwood, Marina del Rey, Redondo, Newport, and Huntington Beach than there ever were in LF/SL/EP.
But yes, there were quite a few USC students whose parents bought them condos in DTLA or K-Town. Many of these, however, were Asian nationals, usually Korean, and therefore not fitting the stereotype.
