Designer Max Azria Wants $88 Million For Mansion That Won't Sell
Tasteless, representing his egomania. Perhaps he should have handmade wallpaper printed w his financial statements in gold leaf. Paul Williams would shudder over this incarnation.
City orders demo work to stop on Eva Gabor’s longtime home in Holmby Hills
Looks like a pretty typical Paul Williams design to me. It was built in 1938, so there’s some modernism creeping into the design. Williams didn’t slavishly copy the style, like a 1920s architect would have done.
Paul Williams-Designed in Silver Lake's Moreno Highlands
Paul Williams is undoubtedly rolling over in his greave. Perhaps if the owners had REAL books in their bookshelves and actually took the time to READ them, this house would look quite different. They could start by reading about how Paul Williams became one of the most revered architects in Los Angeles….a story of diligence, scholarship, excellence and humility.
Fashion Designer Max Azria's Decadent Holmby Hills Villa Lists for $85MM
@Mikeday: "Another Paul Williams house"? There is nothing remaining of/by Paul Williams in this house! He’s remembered for exquisite proportion and scale, both of which this house has none!
And the absurd nouveau riche decoration is beyond comment!
As to the 3 acres, Mike Day, anyone living in West LA knows that’s what a tear-down is for! EASY-PEASY!

Post-Makeover Paul Williams in La Cañada, Part 1: the Main House
I’ve been to these showcase houses before, and Arch2000 is right – they’re always a schizophrenic mess of conflicting styles and themes, with each designer showing off their "outrageous creativity." Restraint and editing is completely lost on these hacks.
This poor Paul Williams masterpiece has been especially brutalized. It’s somewhere between Disney princess and Bobby Trendy. When will Paul Williams get some much-deserved respect!
