On second look, maybe there is more Buff & Hensman here than I mentioned in my earlier post. It’s not so much a remodel, as it is an addition by Buff & Hensman. It seems the portions of the house where the ceiling has the white plaster finish, is the original Smith & Williams design and the portions with the wood decking are a later Buff & Hensman addition.

This is very disturbing news. I’ve known Straub for decades. He recently decided not to attend the World Fantasy Convention, held the beginning of November in Saratoga Springs NY, because of health concerns. I wonder if the effort of climbing up and down all those stairs finally got to be too much for him.

The Gregory Ain tour is the same day as the Pasadena Heritage Buff & Hensman home tours. Silly.

I’m more buff than that house be Hensman. but it’s a good looking little pad.

gosh….if you’re a fan of mid-century, post/beam classy design – hard to find better than straub…and rolling hills estates – extra-nice if that’s your thing – but kinda remote. we live in venice and this is the turn around point on our bike rides; beautiful, quiet, hilly, great views
