Certainly agree about the loss but this isn’t really Whitley Heights. The "Heights" part refers to being in the hills of Hollywood which begins north of Franklin. This area is just plain old Hollywood.

It will be interesting when construction starts on the towers at Wilshire/La Jolla and Wilshire/Crescent Heights. The 21-stories at Crescent Heights will certainly cut into the views from the rooftop of the hotel.
Hey editors, this area is signed as "Picfair Village," not "Faircrest Heights." According to the P.I.C.O. Neighborhood Council, Picfair Village is east of Fairfax; Faircrest Heights is to the west.

Highland Park has been on the gentrification/xentrification radar for the last ten years or so… along with East Hollywood, Boyle Heights, Lincoln Heights, Mt. Washington, Cypress Park, MacArthur Park, Filipinotown, Rampart Village, Pico Union, etc.
Happy valley, near the rose hill housing projects adjacent to Lincoln heights. Montecito heights is about one or two blocks up the hill. Doesn’t really matter, someone will buy it if it’s right for them.
