The Mar Vista Ain houses always sell for a premium, even this one which was altered to its detriment.

what we need is an architect with AIN conviction. even if it means they are a closet communist.

The kitchen is hideous! The Ain kitchens blend with the design of the house and are very functional. What were they thinking?

Ain was a genius. These units are sweet but/and are designed down to the inch – not for everyone.

It would still be the case if we still had the same zoning and pace of new housing construction as when Ain built these homes.

I live in another Ain home built the same year, and would like to refute any claims that this home is not original. The interiors are mirror image of the Mar Vista Tract homes in every detail, down to light fixtures and the stock rear kitchen door, which mostly have been replaced in other Ain homes. This home appear to be completely original. The original owner first asked Eames, who referred the job to Ain. It is a "Big Brother" to the Mar Vista Tract homes as the owner wanted a home like those in Mar Vista, but larger.

Facades are pretty stupid in comparison to the original architecture in any building.

It’s beautiful ‘modern’ architecture… it’s hot. It should be saved, especially since what they put there in it’s place (probably a parking lot) won’t be better maid, or better looking….
