Cobb County’s tallest building has broken ground near Braves stadium
No one is saying Summerhill is an "entertainment area". It is a place that will be radically different in 15-20 years, however.
I have nothing against whatever is happening up in Cobb (I wouldn’t mind it if that’s where my in-laws landed), but there is a level of defensiveness and weirdness happening that shows how starved they were for something more urban, regardless of how it’s turning out.

There will be over a 1k househoulds within 3 blocks of this development that may choose to walk to get their groceries or entertain themselves within the rapidly expanding options. While traffic should get worse in the area, it will lead to fewer car miles overall (as fewer people will have to drive).
Long term it’s well positioned as an LRT station will get built in the immediate area, which will provide easy access to HRT (either King or the Reynoldstown station) and the PCM area submarket.
$569K Old Fourth Ward listing echoes Charleston, dangles ‘suburban privacy’
The listing realtor is asking for trouble by calling the adjacent lot "unbuildable." This area is zoned R-5, which means it’s permissible to build an 1800 sf house, no matter how small the lot. The height limit is 35’, but because of the weird way Atlanta measures height, you could easily get 4 stories (3 floors plus finished attic) on the lot.
This reminds me of when Twelve Atlantic Station was first built, and realtors were telling potential buyers that their southern view of downtown would never be blocked. A couple years later, they got a great view of the much taller Atlantis. I seem to remember that there were a number of lawsuits filed.
I think the fringes have always existed. The difference is one fringe took over the GOP party while the fringe on the left is battling things out against the current state of power.
I still don’t know what’s extreme about LGBTQ fairness or Wall Street reform, but we’ll leave that for another day.
‘Bosch’ is a modern noir that showcases an unadorned LA
Bravo to Supervising Location Manager Paul Schreiber and the BOSCH location team! I worked on the pilot and fondly remember Michael Connelly’s cameo as a drunk Santa, cuffed to the perp bench in the LAPD Hollywood Division station. The BOSCH team has done a masterful job at telling Connelly’s compelling L.A. story.
What’s so extreme about democrats? Medicare for all proposal by a small group? New green deal? More open LGBTQ platform? Tax platform that hits higher earners? Wall Street reform?
I get not affiliating with a political party, but I fail to see how the Democratic Party is "just as extreme". By in large it’s a fairly centrist party as most policies align with the country.
It seems like the wrong neighborhood/area for their demographic. This isn’t the kind of thing people in EAV, Grant Park or Reynoldstown will spring for, but maybe critical mass will keep them in business.
