I was a loyal attendee of the Winnetka Drive In, week after week, many times both Fri and Sat nights, rain and clear (my dog kept my legs warm under the blankets), driving all the way from Hollywood. One time I turned north instead of south when I exited and I ended up in Moorpark (pre-118 freeway so I have no idea how I got there). I read a Daily News interview asking a top person at Pacific Theater why they were shutting down their last two, who said the drive-in was still making money, "but we can make more money with a walk in", I decided that their greed was too much for me, so after that last summer, Pacific Theaters hasn’t seen a penny of my money.
If you HAD to choose one ( I know, many would choose neither), and you had the money – this or the 700k carport Hollywood hills house from the other day? Basically location vs. size. Again, I KNOW the answer could very easily be "neither," but just for fun. Better yet, if you were being given one or the other to live in, which one?
Bang for the buck: Hollywood. Though be careful, you’ll be across from a fairly huge construction project for a while. But Highland Park hot tub? Wow, you can dip your food in there to keep it warm and fresh!
I would go with Hollywood – at least you’re in the middle of lots of stuff and hopefully won’t have to endure a long commute on top of having to live in a depressing condo in Hollywood.
I went with Hollywood, besides the location that’s a nice open loft-style condo and those monthly HOA fees are a steal and compared to the little Hollywood bungalow featured today this condo is a real bargain
