Work Officially Begins on the Downtown Subway Line
Sorry, I meant Pasadena-Long Beach and Santa Monica-East LA. And I just noticed @LAofAnaheim’s comment, suggesting that the "Expo Line," as a name, will indeed be eliminated once this project is done.
LA Might Drag Out Dead Attempt to Get NFL to Downtown
@ImpatientMike!: I live in Pasadena, and have no problem with large events (not really a football guy, but to each his own.)
That said, the Rose Bowl (like most stadiums in LA) was built in a stupid location with no chance of ever being properly connected to the region via mass transit. Any future stadiums built in LA county should be required to at least have a direct light rail or metrolink connection to Union Station, IMHO.
It looks like there is a raised concrete "stop" curb (?) on the street in the lower righthand corner. Was this in addition to stop signs or before stop signs? Was this common in the US/California/Pasadena?
I have never seen this before. Anyone have information on its use?
An ugly view to be sure, but much of Pasadena City hall can be seen from a much more pleasant viewpoint. To think that before all that construction, the illuminated dome could be seen from Avalon, at night. Pasadena City Hall was designed by the same folks as , and as a sunnier version of, San Francisco City Hall.
Hint: Where Were These Fashionable Pedestrians in 1937?
The dome to me looks like BHills, and the building on the left looks like an apartment on Hollywood Blvd. I was gonna say Highland and Hollywood Blvd, but I’ve never spent any amount of time in Pasadena…
