Atlanta Streets Alive returns soon: What you need to know
Streets alive always makes me realize how fucking easy it would be to get around if we didn’t cram the entire city full of cars every day. 15-20 minutes to go all the way through Mid- and Down-town at a leisurely pace on a bike with no threat of death. It’s refreshing.
Rebellion and rock ‘n’ roll: The Sunset Strip in the ’60s
Great article and photos. The woman in the convertible in the first photo is French film star Brigitte Bardot on a rare visit to Hollywood in the mid ‘60s. She’s identified in the caption for the photo which can be found on the Getty Images website.
Polished 1940s Traditional seeks $1.25M in Mid-City
These pictures don’t do the house justice. The cabinetry is hand-crafted by the carpenter owner. The landscaping is beautiful (the front garden picture is old). The living room windows (not pictured) were my favorite part of the house. Although it’s in mid-city, you feel like you’re in the Hollywood Hills. Definitely worth the price plus!
Metro Board approves $3.2B budget for last leg of the Purple Line
I’m a daily user of the red line. Often times I will use the 720 on Wilshire and it will be very nice to have the Purple Line up and running. I don’t understand what your point is.
About that Miracle Mile place: I live in mid-Wlishire/Ktown. Parking has become a HUGE issue. When I first moved here, I gave street parking a shot. It’s just not feasable. Fortunately I’m near lots and garages, BUT— my monthly fee has gone from $85/month to $160/month in five years. If this is in an area that’s got resident parking that’s one thing, but otherwise probably you’d have to rent a space.
For that mid-city place (which looks like new construction and not a remodel) I’d suggest factoring in $150/month for a space. And if it’s new construction, they’d have to have a garage, but many new buildings a-la-carte the parking price.
Los Angeles City Councilmember says transit density bill threatens single-family neighborhoods
You are right – there is absolutely nothing but Korean food there. You just have to overlook Monty’s Goodburger, Beer Belly, Taylors, Here’s Looking at You, Platform 35 food hall, Openaire at the Line, everything on Wilshire, Zinc, the Normandie Club…
Actually, you have no idea wtf you are talking about.
Los Angeles City Councilmember says transit density bill threatens single-family neighborhoods
Sorry but Los Angeles has enough people. We don’t need a bunch of ugly apartments crammed all over the place like some shitty town in the mid west or the east coast.
Those apartment buildings you are whining about over time will just get uglier and uglier and turn into disgusting ghetto buildings. What the fuck is wrong with you stupid density queens?
The Wing Boston out with first renderings of future Back Bay space
Those are most definitely not the views out of the windows of 699 Boylston St. It’s a mid-rise building, maybe 15 stories, not a 60-story tower. Those are more like Pru or Hancock Tower views. Nice try, though.
