‘Where should I go?’: Developer evicting Koreatown tenants to build new apartments
$2,900 for a 2 bedroom is quite steep and that would be pretty top end in K-Town. Nevertheless, market rates are completely different than what many people pay with rent control, low income housing, and tent housing. Also, in places like K-Town you can have 7-8 people stuffed into a 2 bed.
If you’re new to LA, and these are your options, then you’re not successful enough to make it here. You’re better off trying to make a start in a smaller pond.
If you’re from LA, and these are your options, then I hope you work near the home you purchase.
Craftsman bungalow court in Hollywood Heights asking $5.9M
Wow. Like living in Shangri-La! (all practical considerations aside). I continue to be amazed by the number of these hidden pockets that still exist in Hollywood, despite the constant steamrolling of the past. Hope to God they’ve got it landmarked.
Exclusive renderings: Aloft hotel and another retail hub unveiled for Summerhill
You’re a bit off base (damn right pun intended). The Braves wanted to own and control all the real estate (a la The Battery). The county determined that would be a bad deal for them/taxpayers and wouldn’t give in, so the Braves found a taker in the late Tim Lee. And guess what, now the area is being developed anyways and a private organization owned by a media conglomerate doesn’t get to be the only beneficiary. So I’m not sure how that makes the county idiots.
Downtown development news: Fines issued at Penobscot, Hudson’s scales back [Updated]
Very disappointed about Hudsons site. Bedrock has consistently pushed to the public and government ( to get incentives , and it worked ) the mantra of this being the tallest in Michigan. This makes a major statement about Detroit going forward to its citizens and the country. Bedrock spent so much on renderings, websites, hoop la parties, Shop Architects etc. and now this…Many are just over it….Major opportunity lost here to go forward..Lets be honest, it will not be that iconic, or Detroits " landmark destination" as earlier announced. Ren Cen will be taller, and always acknowledged as such..Papers and Media have already noted that..Surprised at Bedrock not going the needed 50 feet if it ends up at 675. Strange move. Why run 25 of a 26 mile marathon.
‘Where should I go?’: Developer evicting Koreatown tenants to build new apartments
Koreatown is more affordable than many other areas in the center of LA.
You can find a tiny apartment in Koreatown for less money, especially, if you don’t need a car.
‘Exciting’ Hollywood Boulevard makeover unveiled. But don’t call it radical.
Arterial? Most drivers don’t use Hollywood Blvd to navigate through Hollywood. They use Santa Monica, Sunset, or Franklin. In Santa Monica, vehicles can still use the streets that parallel 3rd street on both sides and two streets cut through the 3rd street promenade as well. The same can happen on Hollywood Blvd.
Close off the vehicle access on Hollywood Blvd from La Brea to Cahuenga, but within that area allow cross vehicle traffic via Las Palmas, Wilcox, and Highland. That could work well.
