Sen. Holly Mitchell is truly a gutless wonder. She votes down a modest, common sense bill to help alleviate the housing crisis and does nothing while her constituents continue to pack more and more people into apartments and houses because of un-affordable rents while the most marginalized in our society go to the streets. Must be comfortable in that ivory tower, because here in the real world, the working class is struggling, and we need solutions, not lip service to assuage long term home owning constituents. This will be remembered when she runs for county supervisor.
It is kind of crazy how $1.6 million doesn’t even register as all that expensive these days. Most of these would all have been $500,000 or less homes not very long ago. I am definitely glad we had the foresight to buy when we did and feel for those who didn’t.
First leg of the Beltline’s Southside Trail is underway, but what about the rest?
in theory, i can see how building (south)west to east aims to build equity and inspire growth and redevelopment throughout ITP… but in practice it seems silly to have pieces instead of one long piece that grows.
Exclusive: Now for sale, Reynoldstown steel mill on Beltline called ‘trophy opportunity’
Great speech. Unfortunately, the majority of people visiting this location WILL be driving. No escaping that fact.
In the short-term this is absolutely true. But in the long-term those patterns of insane traffic coupled with increased amenities and transit options will change the mobility dynamic.
