Tribeca’s many cast iron lofts, which were home to artists in decades past, are now multimillion-dollar apartments. The same goes for previously industrial warehouses in Williamsburg and Dumbo.
The era of Soho, Greenwich Village, Tribeca, Williamsburg and Dumbo being home to artists and industrial manufacturing businesses has been gone for a good 20 years. These are all expensive and high-demand areas.

If Mr. Ionesco wanted my opinion I would suggest he scale his pieces down ever so slightly. Wouldn’t it be interesting if the work commanded attention in a room (as I suspect he MUST want it to) but did so while being diminutive in size. Unless Mr. Ionesco is himself a small man the photo of him with his work shows it to be a touch large in my opinion. Isn’t it almost always the case that the very best art and design is of course born from the biggest ideas but is surprisingly small when seen in person?
