I do believe this is the former Deutsches Haus, which once housed a speakeasy during Prohibition. If that’s true then it’s the place where Detroit Mayor John Smith, Michigan Congressman Robert Clancy and Sheriff Edward Stein were busted at during a raid. Just so happened Fickett, Neutra, Schindler and Jones would tour the country together giving lectures to students of architecture through a program designed by the AIA. Fickett is an "American Hero", as the AIA has noted.
