Will there be shiplap? An open floor plan? Shaker cabinets?

HGTV announced today that it will unveil its “astonishing transformation” of the Brady Bunch house with the 90-minute premiere of A Very Brady Renovation at 7 p.m. September 9. A crew of HGTV stars have spent the past eight months renovating the Studio City residence, turning it into a “replica of the original TV set design.”

While the exterior of the pink ranch house on Dilling Street was used in establishing shots throughout the series, the interiors were never seen in the show.

Jane Latman, the network’s president, says viewers will be “transported back in time” when they see the final result.

“HGTV left no stone unturned, creating a perfect replica of the home down to the horse statue next to the staircase and the stuffed animal giraffe in the girls’ bedroom,” she said.

The actors who played the six Brady Bunch siblings worked on the renovation with Jonathan and Drew Scott (Property Brothers), Mina Starsiak Hawk and Karen E Laine (Good Bones), Leanne and Steve Ford (Restored by the Fords), Jasmine Roth (Hidden Potential), and Lara Spencer (Flea Market Flip).

The work entailed a 2,000-square-foot addition, recreating the show’s floating staircase, dining room, and orange and green kitchen and family room, and scouring flea markets for furniture and tchotchkes.

The house came up for sale in August, and HGTV scooped it up for $3.5 million, nearly double its $1.89 million asking price.

I’m kind of looking forward to this just for fun, I just hope they did away with that silly brick wall outside

Gone.

the poor neighbors near this house – it will have way more attention than it did after this show. I wonder what hgtv plans to do with it long term. After the big reveal – which is basically recreating the set so we already know what’s coming. If they added 2000 sq ft the yard must now be much smaller.

They must have paid some large location fees to the neighbors. It went on for months. HGTV will get their money’s worth in ad sales alone. It was not a stupid move.

That’s pretty cool. What 3D program did you use to create your videos in?

I wonder if they recreated Greg’s groovy bachelor pad in the attic.

Yes.

I wish they could makeover Trump into an actual president and/or human being. Please start with that ridiculous comb-over…

This show lasted 5 seasons. There are so many shows that lasted longer that didn’t get this reception. Remaking it into a 1970s model home sounds like a nightmare to the next person who buys it and has to live in it.

That isn’t the point.

Are you kidding? One of the most famous TV houses will have no trouble finding a buyer

I hope they let people tour the house.
I want to see it in person.
