This 1950s-built Pacoima dwelling leans into its midcentury roots but seamlessly mixes in plenty of contemporary updates for an effect that strikes a sweet balance between the two.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom home has its original wood-beamed ceilings and a few vintage appliances in the kitchen, as well as some retro breeze blocks in front of the house.

But interiors also feature up-to-date details: concrete floors stained turquoise, kitchen countertops by designer Jonathan Adler, custom cabinets, and, in one bedroom, brand-new cork floors.

13063 Montford Street also has a pool and a covered patio area in its backyard, making it an ideal retreat in the summer.

The house is listed for $489,000 with Robbie Conley of Compass.

Ya know what’s not groovy?

Pacoima.

It would be a great house if it was in another neighborhood. The curb appeal is sort of iffy too.

you could do a lot worse for $489k

In Pacoima?

It is what it is, a hodge-podge of rooms and stuff all centered around a pool. Looks like a great place to raise a family without being outrageously wealthy

This is one of the few homes I have seen for a family.

It’s a house and that’s about it

I remember when Pacomia was Watts with a valley girl accent.

Cute. But Mildred’s right, there’s zero curb appeal and……it’s in Pacoima.

Too bad its in Pacoima but that is where the affordable houses are.

There is nothing to love here, not even the flamingo…

It’s cute and looks liveable if you don’t mind the north Valley, and asking only 489k. Haven’t seen many SFR’s on this page for that little.

check out the hood on Googlemaps. It’s a dive. Also shows the old pix of the house. Must have been a $200k sale.

Perfect if you are color blind and don’t know the area.
