Tucked into the hills a little west of the Crystal Springs Drive entrance to Griffith Park, this French Tudor Revival was built in 1934 by Frank Scott Crowhurst, architect of Walt Disney’s nearby family residence and Burbank studio. As befits the work of a Disney architect, the two-story home is awash in fairy-tale charm.

For starters, its exterior wall is adorned with a pastoral scene of a girl, a cat, and a gaggle of geese in plaster bas-relief. Moving inside, past the bright red front door with built-in peephole, there’s a picturesque living room with beamed ceilings, leaded glass windows, wrought-iron lanterns, and a massive fireplace. Other lovely original details include peg-and-groove mahogany floors, French doors, built-in bookcases, and steel-mullioned casement windows.

Measuring 2,455 square feet, the house contains three bedrooms and two and a half baths, a formal dining room, an updated kitchen, and a den/office that leads to an enclosed “catio.” Outside in the yard, you’ll find various lounging spots, a side barbecue area, and a covered dining patio.

On a 7,996-square-foot lot, 3827 Carnavon Way is listed with George and Eileen Moreno of Keller Williams at an asking price of $2.4 million.

With beamed ceilings, leaded glass windows, wrought-iron lanterns, and a huge fireplace, the living room is storybook-perfect.
The dining room features detailed moldings, wainscoting, and French doors.
The kitchen was updated in period-sensitive style.
Lined on two sides with steel-mullioned casement windows, the master bedroom gets ample natural light and cross-ventilation.
The bathrooms have also been updated in period-sensitive style.
Peg-and-groove mahogany floors are found throughout.
The manicured backyard has multiple seating areas and an ivy-covered dining patio.

I think I know who lives here…

It’s adorable, if you’re into adorable

That’s a proper house.

If I had the money, I would take it. That’s a beautiful home.

Does the own come with those awesome purple Maleficent couches and royal red drapes? It’s a very nice house but all of the rooms look tiny to me. I’m not sure if it’s the choice of furniture in each room or the fact that the house was built in the 1930’s when humans were tiny and rooms appeared relatively large. It’s still a beautiful home.

The current owners really nailed the decor with the medieval fairy tale look. Not only were people smaller they didn’t have a lot of clothes, because closets are small

There are seven owners. All dwarves.

The listing has a floor plan, and if those dimensions are even close to accurate, it seems like the rooms are all a perfectly adequate size. I think the current owners just have a predilection for very large, heavy decor.

It’s not a big house. Yes the rooms are probably modest in size.

Wot, no Sputnik lamps?

They don’t have Sputnik lamps in the Enchanted Forest
