It’s been almost 50 years to the date that supermarket chain owner Leno LaBianca and his wife Rosemary, who ran a successful clothing business, were killed by the Manson “family” at their Los Feliz home. That house is now on the market.
Built in 1922, the two-bedroom, one and a half bathroom home sits on a lot that slopes gently in the back, allowing for views of the San Gabriel Mountains.
Inside the 1,655-square-foot home, there are Italian tile floors, a pink-tiled bathroom, a gas fireplace, a formal dining room, and a backyard with a patio and pool. The 31,000-square-foot property also has a covered patio and established fruit trees.
The property has changed hands a few times since the LaBiancas’ were murdered. Online property records show the last sale of the house was in 1998, for $375,000. Despite the passage of time, the agent’s notes do say: “Please research before showing.”
3311 Waverly Drive is now listed for $1.98 million with Robert Giambalvo of Redfin.

Wow, a total gut job for that much money. No Thanks.

Mostly about the lot. The house could be cute but needs a bump. Isn’t it next to that property Katy Perry was buying? Maybe they are hoping she’ll purchase it too.

Opportune time before the release of Tarantino’s "Once Upon a Time" on July 26.
By BingoWest on 07.12.19 7:28am
That could backfire, but knowing how celebrity of any kind sells it will probably get some ghoulish buyer who’ll want to live in a "famous" house

I was thinking more along the lines of getting out before the looky-loos descend.
By BingoWest on 07.12.19 12:29pm
That too
By mrjim1 on 07.12.19 3:23pm
I do not accept your hypothesis.

That lot is amazing but the inside is so disappointing. Is that Katy Perry’s convent next door?
By CaliSon on 07.12.19 10:28am
Easy. Tear it down, get a number change on the address, build a new house, sell it for $5MM with "A-list neighbors" and a "storied past". Anyone want to create a GoFundMe with me? Probably intended to get Perry to buy it.

the current 3311 address is the changed number: it was 3301 back in the day.

Maybe apply for 666?

You could probably do very well renting this out on Airbnb and for parties. Maybe Quinten T should buy it.

Hey the middle ages call and they want their superstitions back. There is no such thing as a haunted house or ghosts. This is a great price for a fine home on an amazing lot.

First Curbed post. Welcome.
By BingoWest on 07.12.19 4:34pm
That was my 19th comment, but thank you for your kindness.
By Mas Gaviota on 07.12.19 4:46pm
In that case, congratulations on 19! The CurbedLA "Mas Gaviota" page returned only one post, until I clicked another link.
You are correct that superstition rules the notion of, "I’m not buying a murder house!" (particularly an infamous murder house), but it has a deleterious effect nonetheless. It’ll be interesting to see how long this house is on the market and its final selling price.
By BingoWest on 07.12.19 5:15pm
It’s not just superstition a house can have negative energy or karma like the " Los Feliz Murder House" https://la.curbed.com/2015/9/21/9920706/los-feliz-murder-house which has remained untouched since 1959
A house can just give off a creepy vibe

Speaking of "creepy," see below.

Life is more than just what we see.

Your secondary headline says: Note to realtors: "Please research before showing" . How about the writer do some research of their own. The La Biancas did not own clothing stores but rather were owners of a successful grocery store operation. Secondly, the couple was slain on the 9th of August [not the 10th as suggested in the article] , one day after the murders of Sharon Tate and friends which occurred on the 8th.
By Nick English on 07.13.19 12:00am
The murders happened after 1 A, on August 10th.

Rosemary opened a dress shop/gift store within a Gateway shopping plaza on 2625 North Figueroa St. While her businesses flourished, Rosemary made smart investments in stocks and commodities, and suddenly she was a millionaire.

.if one knew, most likel;y many homes in LA hav haS HAD A DEAD PERSON.
BUT THIS PLACE, YOU LIVE NEXT TO KATY PERRY, THE SINGER!!!!
By bthorsn on 07.13.19 10:08am
Forget "hauntings" and "ghosts."
The murdered couple suffered horrific deaths. Rosemary LaBianca was stabbed 41 times (some post mortem) with a kitchen knife and bayonet. Leon was stabbed with the bayonet 12 times – first in the throat – and had the word "war" carved on his body. Etc. He was later stabbed 14 times with a carving fork, and had a steak knife in his throat.
I could not sit in those rooms without thinking about that horror. Every time. So, let’s not be cute about this stuff.
