Perched atop a grassy hill just a block from Figueroa Street in Highland Park, this 1920s bungalow offers cozy charm on the interior and stellar views from the covered front deck.

The entrance leads into an airy living room with wood floors and a decorative mantelpiece. Beyond that is a small dining room, which flows into the updated kitchen. The 884-square-foot residence also includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which both appear to have been recently renovated.

Below the house is a bonus room that currently appears to be outfitted as a library/studio space.

The home sits on a 5,702-square-foot lot and, per the listing, the buyer will have first right of refusal on an adjacent plot of land measuring in at 5,060 square feet. The lush grounds around the house include built-in bench seating, patio space, and gardens.

Last sold in 2010 for $410,000, the home is today asking $750,000.

OK now I’m getting scared. This is yet another recent listing that seem way way WAY underpriced. Is this trend an example of the republican/trump maga economy rearing its ugly head?

Underpriced? You’ve got to be kidding. This is an obvious flip. This is 885 sq for $750,000!? And they did a horrible job with the remodel. That open space concept looks awkward and forced. It doesn’t belong in a home like this. They ruined it!

I kind of agree, it’s a tough space to work with, but you can’t beat that hilltop setting

Exactly – a flip for sure. I hate flippers. They artificially drive prices up to ridiculous prices. I think there should be regulation.

Totally agree with most of what you say except for this property being a flip. 8 years is a pretty good amount of time for purchasing and living in an area that wasn’t quite gentrified yet. If it was meant to be a flip, it was a HUGE gamble back in 2010.

Whose idea was it to paint the hearth white? Congratulations, the living room now looks like the inside of a toilet bowl. I love what they did on the outside though, and the floor still gives it some character and warmth.

The house targets hipsters with many must haves – open concept, white walls, open shelving in the kitchen, raised garden beds. All this packed into less than 900 sq feet can be yours for just 3/4 of a million. Ha. Next owner won’t see any real appreciation for 15 years or so.

It is, however, missing an important hipster detail…rolling weathered interior barn doors. So, it earns only a B- on the Hipster Flip Scale.

How about that Moroccan lattice panel between the living room and dining room? Don’t see those too often

That panel may be one of the only details original to the house…
…but they did use grey flooring in the kitchen, so hipster kudo for that.

That’s ok. They can always play Cornhole while they wait!

I’d like a bigger house for a 5702 lot size. The light is beautiful in the bedroom and kitchen and I love the last photo with that view! On the downside, the house is small and the living, dining, kitchen flow is odd. Best part is definitely the outside.

Hope you’re a nudist, there is no room in the bedrooms for a dresser and they aren’t showing the closets which are probably tiny.

The Hipster jokes are funny. Why are people so afraid of Hipster?

Well, let’s see…

… it might be contagious for one

I think I’ve seen the two dudes on the ends in Silver Lake…

we love hipsters – they spend good money on all kinds of bullshit stuff.

My guess is what’s holding the price where it is is the fact that you have to climb about 40 steps to get to the front door, which is great fun on grocery day.

And it looks like the stairs start on the vacant lot next door, which doesn’t come with the house. I wonder if there’s an easement?

ROFLMAO re: Highland Park listings. For almost $1 million you will have the pleasure of sweating bullets in the middle of summer after huffing up all those steps, and no AC here! But the shops on York are close! LOL
