The site is key to revitalizing the river. Lehrer’s team also includes the nonprofit Mujeres de la Tierra, a public health and wellness-oriented organization in Cypress Park.
Built in 1931, this house has three bedrooms and one bath and a backyard. There's lots to love about it, including a sweet breakfast nook, colorful tilework, and a large picture window.
Called the Bow Tie Yard, it would replace a warehouse and cap a stretch of green space along the river. "With the river being such a hot bed of activity ... having heavy heavy industrial seems antithetical," the architect says.
This little house packs a big punch, with an open living room and kitchen, plus a bedroom that opens onto the spacious backyard. There's a detached office/studio and a gazebo, so there's plenty of outdoor space, too.
