LA’s most expensive rentals

A few leasing options for the 1 percent

View as Map

With one of the most expensive rental markets in the nation, Los Angeles is becoming increasingly unaffordable for many residents. Perhaps it’s not surprising, then, that the homes at the very top of that rental market are likely unaffordable for nearly every resident.

We’ve rounded up the most opulent, extravagant, and, above all, expensive residences available for lease right now (sadly, none are eligible for rent control). Let’s take a look at what kind of amenities you might expect from, say, a $600,000 per month rental.

Beverly Hills, CA 90210

$600,000/month

The most expensive rental in the LA area may look familiar. It’s the place where sleazy film producer Jack Woltz awoke with a horse’s head in his bed in The Godfather. Called the Beverly House, the 19-bedroom mansion once housed actress Marion Davies and her paramour, William Randolph Hearst. JFK and Jackie Kennedy also honeymooned here. The house also features 29 bathrooms, two pools, a fitness room, and a snazzy Art Deco bar.

The 15,500-square-foot residence has seven bedrooms and eight full bathrooms spread across a main house and detached guest home. Features include an infinity pool, game room, fitness center, media room, and spa, but the real selling—or, rather, renting—point is the view from the open, glass-walled living room.
