The most expensive LA home sales of 2016 ... so far

It's a blockbuster year

View as Map

Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores just scooped up an exorbitant spec house in Holmby Hills in a deal valued at $100 million—his purchase ties with the Playboy Mansion as the most expensive to date in 2016. It's the latest sale in what's already been a lucrative year for the owners of LA's most luxurious estates.

In honor of Gores' whopping acquisition, we've rounded up the most expensive home sales so far this year. We're only including those that were sold on the open market. So, our list does not include the Playboy Mansion, which also sold for $100 million. With sale prices ranging from $17 million to $100 million, we've identified the 11 priciest on-the-market sales with help from OpenHouse, a real estate listings website.
