We're trying not to go to crazy with all the overblown stories about Carmageddon (the 405 construction closure during the weekend of July 16-17), but this one couldn't be avoided. The Encino Patch reports that the project's contractor, Kiewit Pacific Co, will face a fine of 6G for every 10 minutes the freeway remains closed after 6 a.m. on Monday, June 18--that's $72,000 an hour. No pressure, though. *It's 6K for every 10 minutes each side is closed, hence $72G/hour. [Encino Patch]
