HOLLYWOOD: Hollywood loves to give out awards, and the Friends of the Hollywood Central Park, the group that wants to put a 44-acre park over the Hollywood Freeway wants to give out a couple. The group sent out a press today noting that they'll honor local groups and politicians next week, all part of an event to celebrate their first anniversary and thank the community for their support of the proposed park. Recipients of the first "For the Love of Hollywood" awards include the East Hollywood Neighborhood Council, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, City Councilmember Tom LaBonge, and City Council President Eric Garcetti. Let's cut to the chase, Friends of Hollywood, what's the status of the park? Via a rep for the group: "Hope to begin EIR process in Q3 2010; Caltrans will be lead agency." [Curbed InBox]
