Downtown’s cool Hoxton hotel slated to open in October with rooms from $129 per night

After years of work repurposing a 1920s-era building, the owners of a new Downtown hotel are preparing for its October opening.

The building at Broadway and Eleventh Street will open as a Hoxton hotel, a chic British brand with locations in London, Paris, New York, and Portland.

The Hoxton’s 174 rooms will come in four sizes—“snug, cosy, roomy and biggy”—and feature interiors by the in-house design studio at Ennismore, which owns Hoxton. Public spaces at the hotel are done by that same team in collaboration with Soho House.

The Hoxton will also feature three dining and drinking establishments, including a rooftop bar and a basement bar (the latter is slated to open in early 2020). The rooftop will also have a swimming pool.

Guests can book stays at the Hoxton now for the “early bird” rate of $129 a night. Regular rates are expected to start at $179 a night.

The Hoxton is about a block south of Ace Hotel on Broadway, in a little cluster of century-old buildings that are also undergoing renovations.

The Julia Morgan-designed Herald-Examiner building is being repurposed as office space with ground-floor restaurants and shops right at Eleventh and Broadway. Near Olympic, the one-time Case Hotel building is being rehabbed to become the Downtown Proper, a 148-room luxury hotel scheduled to open before the end of the year.
