Located at the corner of Pine Avenue and Fourth Street in downtown Long Beach, the Walker Building was built in 1929 by the architectural firm of Meyer and Holler, whose projects include Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, the Egyptian Theatre, and the Hollywood Athletic Club.

Originally the home of Walker’s Department Store, the building was adapted for mixed use in the early 2000s by Interstices Architects. Along with 20,000 square feet of commercial space on its ground floor, the four-story structure contains 39 industrial-chic loft condos, one of which has just hit the market.

A corner unit on the third floor, the loft in question has one bedroom and one bath within its 1,462 square feet. Notable architectural elements include 13-foot ceilings, polished concrete floors, oversize sash-hung wood windows, and massive concrete pillars. The magazine-worthy unit has also been upgraded with high end appliances, custom cabinetry, and designer fixtures and finishes.

As for building amenities, there’s a shared rooftop deck with panoramic views, an outdoor fireplace, and BBQ area, plus deeded parking and storage in the subterranean garage.

Last sold in 2016 for $582,000, the loft is now being offered at $668,000, with monthly HOA fees of $598. Nate Cole of Coldwell Banker has the listing.
