In Charles Fleming’s trusty guidebook Secret Stairs, Eagle Rock’s Eucalyptus Lane is described as “unusually rustic...more Topanga Canyon than Eagle Rock.” That close-ended staircase block a little west of Figueroa is where you’ll find this sunny cottage that’s just come up for grabs for the first time in nearly two decades.

Built in 1923, the cottage contains two bedrooms and one bathroom within its 1,137 square feet. Features include hardwood and concrete floors, wood-frame windows, built-in storage, a refurbished antique stove, and a fun-size clawfoot tub. There’s also a bonus sunroom with French doors that open to a pergola-shaded garden nook.

Last sold in 2002 for $169,000, 6036 Eucalyptus Lane is listed with Jacqueline Tager of Sotheby’s International Realty at an asking price of $629,000. Open houses are scheduled for 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
