It’s got lots of midcentury character but needs TLC

The narrow, windy, and steep roads in the Franklin Hills section of Los Feliz are notoriously difficult to navigate, but there’s a reason they don’t deter buyers: the views.

The vistas are bound to be a big selling point for this two-bedroom, one-bath home at 3920 Clayton Avenue, which boasts a wood deck that’s “nearly as wide” as the 4,291-square-foot lot. As the listing advertises, it’s the perfect spot for “dining and entertaining, with iconic views of the Hollywood Hills to Santa Monica.”

Inside, there’s no shortage of midcentury flair, from the tongue and groove ceilings to the brick fireplace to the flagstone wall. But the dwelling, which was built in 1956, will need updates and a polish.

On the market for the first time since 1980, the hillside fixer is now listed with Compass agent Teresa Fuller for $699,000.
