President Donald Trump is in Southern California for a trip to the U.S.-Mexico border and an evening fundraiser in Beverly Hills.

That means Westside commuters should be prepared for heavy traffic this afternoon, according to an advisory from the Los Angeles Police Department.

The president’s official schedule indicates that Trump is expected to land at LAX at 3:15 p.m. before continuing on to Santa Monica Airport via helicopter. The motorcade to Beverly Hills will depart at 3:45 p.m., with the ride only expected to take 15 minutes.

Despite that, LAPD advises that delays are likely between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. around Bundy Drive, between Airport Avenue and Pico Boulevard. Things are also likely to get backed up at Sunset Boulevard between Sepulveda Boulevard and Hillcrest Drive.

Beyond avoiding those areas, drivers and bus riders should be aware that, from 1 to 7 p.m., Sunset Boulevard will be closed between Foothill and Hillcrest roads. Foothill, Elm, and Maple drives will also be closed during that time, between Sunset Boulevard and Elevado Avenue.

The president will leave the fundraiser at 6:20 p.m., heading back to Santa Monica Airport at that point (departing from there for an overnight stay in Las Vegas).

LAPD warns drivers to avoid Sunset Boulevard between Hillcrest Drive and Sepulveda Boulevard between 6 and 7 p.m. Traffic is also likely to be thick on Bundy Drive between Pico Boulevard and Airport Avenue between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.
