A one-bedroom in the foothills or a two-bedroom in busy Koreatown?

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent or buy for a certain dollar amount in various LA ’hoods. We’ve found five rentals within $100 of today’s price, $2,000. Vote for your favorite below.

We begin in North Hollywood, in this charming pink building, where a two-bedroom apartment is available. The remodeled apartment has stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher), wood floors, and a contemporary, tiled bathroom. Parking for one car is included in the $2,100 rent.

This Koreatown two-bedroom apartment has loads of light, thanks to its big windows (especially in the living room). The unit’s remodeled kitchen holds new cabinets and counters. There’s also in-unit laundry machines. Rent is $2,095.

This Burbank one-bedroom off the 5 Freeway offers recessed lighting, wood floors, a galley-style kitchen, and a roomy bedroom. The unit comes with a one-car detached garage. It rents for $1,950.

On the other side of the hill, in Pico-Robertson, this lovely two-story building holds a spacious one-bedroom up for rent. Measuring about 1,000 square feet, the apartment has a bay window, an updated kitchen, and access to the building’s pool. There are laundry hook-ups inside the apartment too. The unit comes with parking and rents for $1,950.

Looking for something a little less LA and a little more rural? We’ve got the place for you. This little house in Kagel Canyon holds one bedroom, one bathroom, a fireplace, in-house laundry machines, a detached garage, and wood floors. “Hiking trails in every direction!” the listing proudly advertises. The unit rents for $2,000.
