A Mid-Wilshire studio or a one-bedroom in the Valley?

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent or buy for a certain dollar amount in various LA ’hoods. We’ve found five rentals within $100 of today’s price, $1,450.

This darling Mid-Wilshire studio measures under 450 square feet but holds loads of charming vintage details, like black and white tile in the kitchen and a cute little built-in shelf. This apartment in a gated complex rents for $1,550.

Over in Pasadena, this shingled complex holds a one-bedroom, second-floor apartment with an airy, tiled kitchen, a new stove, and wood floors. The building has on-site laundry and parking. The apartment, which is short walk from the Gold Line’s Filmore Station, rents for $1,350.

This East Hollywood one-bedroom has wood floors in the living room and dining area, a redone bathroom and kitchen, on-site laundry and parking. Also, the listing says the complex has an orange tree “with some of the sweetest, juiciest oranges you have ever tasted,” and that fruit is fair game. The unit rents for $1,450.

This Koreatown studio has new carpet and vinyl floors, and a full bathroom. There’s also a balcony, on-site laundry, and parking. The rent here is $1,485.

If the Valley is more your speed, this North Hollywood one-bedroom appears to have been recently renovated. Stainless steel appliances, a fancy wall-mounted air conditioning unit, and parking come with the unit. It rents for $1,400.
