One of several dozen modern-style homes that architect Gregory Ain designed in Mar Vista in the 1940s, this residence offers plenty of appealing midcentury style.

The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms spread across 1,790 square feet of living space. Interior features include hardwood floors, walls of glass, skylights, a living room fireplace, and a sliding divider that Ain included in the Mar Vista homes to give owners greater flexibility when dividing up the space.

Like other homes in the tract, this one has been expanded and remodeled a bit since its construction. The kitchen has been thoroughly updated and a bathroom is now adorned with attention-grabbing glass tile.

The house sits on a 7,052-square-foot lot with a large backyard and a concrete patio. The elegant design of the home includes a front-facing roof cutout that frames a pair of trees and a small garden.

Asking price is $1.789 million.
