Here’s some lovely daydream fodder to brighten a dreary afternoon. Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument No. 704, the John R. Hunt House was built in 1930 for an early Hollywood cinematographer.

Overlooking the Silver Lake Reservoir’s west side, the three-story Spanish Colonial Revival has four bedrooms, 3.75 bathrooms, and a cavalcade of sublime original features.

Among its most notable Jazz Age details: the original, personalized doorbell, a magnesite foyer and staircase with stained glass accents, metal-encased arched windows, wrought-iron railings and sconces, built-in vanities, a Batchelder fireplace, and dazzling period tile.

The 4,213-square-foot home also features a modernized kitchen; a lower level guest suite with separate entrance, bath, and private patio; a hot tub; and a detached three-door garage.

Last sold in 2012 for $1.375 million, the Mills Act-protected property is now asking $2.375 million.

Open house is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
