Inglewood could get a Hilton Tru hotel

The hotel would be about two miles from the future NFL stadium

The 120-room hotel could begin construction by July.

A Beverly Hills developer is working to bring a Hilton Tru hotel to Inglewood.

City planning documents say hotel would hold 120 rooms and parking for 118 cars, as well as a rooftop deck and a gym, Urbanize LA reports. The hotel would be developed by Kruger Development Group and designed by Architects Orange.

The hotel would rise on a site that’s roughly two miles south of the future Rams and Chargers NFL football stadium and the massive new neighborhood under construction next to the stadium.

Hilton’s Tru brand self-advertises as “vibrant, affordable and young-at-heart,” offering shared work spaces, smaller rooms, and large lobbies. Inglewood city planning documents for the proposed hotel say it’s “intended to appeal to a ‘Millennial’ mindset.”

If approved, the project could begin construction as soon as July 2018, with the build-out expected to take a little over a year.

Inglewood’s city planning division is reviewing the proposal.

This is the second hotel in the works for Inglewood in the last year. In October, the developer behind the redevelopment of the Boyle Heights Sears, Izek Shomof, purchased a 180-room hotel near the stadium site and announced plans to revamp it.

The 238-acre, mixed-use project rising next to the stadium is also bringing a hotel to the neighborhood—a 300-room luxury inn is planned for the project.
