After a hiatus of more than two years, Downtown’s Hotel Figueroa reopens Monday.
Desk staff confirmed that the hotel, shuttered for a remodel since November 2015, will welcome guests starting next week. (It was previously expected to open in the fall of 2016.)
Hotel Figueroa is debuting a fresh remodel, replacing the hotel’s famous Moroccan interiors with a look that, photos show, is more contemporary, less patterned, and slightly Spanish-inspired.
Changes to the building weren’t just cosmetic. The hotel reopens with 17 fewer rooms but with enlarged bathrooms and 57 new suites. Renovations added a second restaurant and a fourth bar to the hotel’s roster. Rockefeller Partners Architects was the architect for the renovation, with interior design on the project by Studio Collective.
A lucky few will be able to see the revamped hotel before anyone else: This weekend, Hotel Figueroa will host a private event related to the NBA’s All-Stars games, Eater LA reports.
