Developer Cityview unveiled Tuesday its new five-story apartment complex, The Pearl on Wilshire in Koreatown. The Pearl holds 346 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments, all within a couple blocks of the Wilshire/Western subway station.
“Koreatown is experiencing an incredible revitalization and The Pearl is the manifestation of what the young, vibrant community has been craving in urban living,” Cityview CEO Sean Burton said in a statement.
Studios start at $1,975, while one-bedrooms begin at $2,387, and two-bedrooms rent for $3,100 and up. Each apartment in the VTBS Architects-designed building comes with quartz counters, stainless steel appliances, an in-unit washer and dryer, smart thermostats, and a terrace.
Resident amenities include a rooftop lounge with fire pits and Korean barbecue grills, a pool and cabanas, a gym, and a dog-washing station.
The Pearl’s 8,300-square-foot ground floor retail space will be occupied by a coffee bar and an “artisan” sandwich shop.
Before the Pearl was built, the site was a vacant lot that neighborhood advocates and activists had long hoped to turn into a green space in the park-poor neighborhood.
