One of the multiple cranes on Hollywood’s skyline hovers over Cauhuenga and Fountain, the future site of Rise Hollywood, an apartment complex that will rise seven stories and bring more shops and 369 more apartments to the rapidly densifying neighborhood.

Teams have been at work for just over a year on the site—a home plate-shaped, 2-acre property bordered by Cahuenga Boulevard and Cole and Fountain avenues. As site photos from the builder, Bernards, show, crews are now getting to work on the above-ground portion.

Developed by Cal-Coast and Rescore and designed by Nadel Architects, the building will hold parking for more than 550 cars, along with 2,500 square feet of retail on the street-level.

If it opens when expected, Rise Hollywood will arrive on the scene shortly before Academy on Vine, a block-sized project under construction across Cahuenga (and the source of two other cranes in the frame on Rise construction shots).

That project, with a 20-story residential building and about 335,000 square feet of office space, is expected to be complete in early 2020, says a spokesperson for Bernards.

Two large buildings. One of the buildings is white and black and the other building has a glass exterior. There is a street in front of the buildings with cars.
