Designed by architect Harry Gesner and constructed by Norwegian shipbuilders in the late 1950s, the distinctive Cahuenga Pass residences known as the Boathouses certainly aren't for everyone. But if the quirky, cantilevered cottages appeal to you, here's one that's just hit the market.

Measuring 1,136 square feet, the hillside-hugging house contains two bedrooms and one bathroom. Per its listing, the cottage’s kitchen and bath have been “newly renovated with designer fixtures.” Other features include hardwood floors, sliding glass doors, and a view deck.

Last sold in 2015 for $755,000, it’s now listed with the highly specific asking price of $849,995. Open house is scheduled for 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
