Not far from Eagle Rock or Highland Park, this house in Pasadena’s San Rafael Hills neighborhood is in a great location.

With multiple decks and tree-rich surroundings, the two-bedroom, two-bath house, built in 1958, feels a bit like it’s up in a tree, but it’s got enough flat space in the rear yard to keep from feeling cramped.

The midcentury modern space features a sleek and classic interior, with high, beamed ceilings, rows of floor-to-ceiling windows, and hardwood floors (recently refinished). The living room looks out over a large rear deck and, below it, a spacious patio with a spa and fire pit.

The residence is being offered for sale on plumBid, an online real estate auction platform that requires interested parties to register and qualify on the website before they can place a bid.

The auction for this property opens on October 14, and once it does, buyers can place bids and see each other’s offers. Auctions only last 90 minutes on a specific date, unless someone places a last-minute bid, which can result in a brief extension.

This relatively new platform seems to be working well for sellers so far. In March, an awesome A-frame in Eagle Rock came to market with a $699,000 starting bid and sold for nearly $1 million.
