There are fancy plans in store for a courtyard apartment complex on Melrose in Larchmont. Developer Molasky Ventures, a Las Vegas-based company, has filed plans with the city to turn the apartments into a boutique hotel, reports Urbanize LA.
It’s unclear how many units the apartment building holds, but the hotel will have 18 rooms and a small lobby. The property is located right on Melrose near Wilton, about a block away from Paramount Pictures studios.
The immediate area hasn’t seen as much action as other parts of Hollywood, but about a mile away from the proposed hotel’s site, a residential project with 52 units is planned.
Paramount Pictures is working on a big makeover of its lot that will play out over the next 25 years. The studio wants to add 1.4 million square feet of space for offices and production, replace a parking lot on the corner of Van Ness and Melrose with an eight-story building, and put up an office tower close to Melrose and Gower. The plan was approved by the city last year.
