This very nice Spanish-style residence was constructed in 1934, when developer Spyros George Ponty built up the surrounding neighborhood of South Carthay on the site of a former vegetable field.

Featuring three bedrooms and two bathrooms spread across 2,116 square feet of living space, the house has been updated over the years but retains appealing vintage features like hardwood floors, stained glass, carved entryways, and plenty of built-ins. The larger of the two bathrooms has been especially well preserved and is equipped with some truly exquisite green tile.

The roomy living room has a beamed ceiling, wide windows, and a fireplace.

Other interior features include a formal dining room, separate breakfast nook, and a kitchen that also seems to have a bit of original tile work.

The house sits on a 6,751-square-foot lot with a grassy lawn in the front. In the back is a partially enclosed deck, gardens, and a bit of yard space with room for outdoor seating. There’s also a two-car garage.

Asking price is $1.4 million.
