This pedigreed Bel Air estate, built in 1969, is the former home of actors Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe, as the Los Angeles Times reports.

But the property has plenty of appeal beyond its association with the celebrity couple of years gone by. Designed by noted residential architect Gerard Colcord, the stately home features oak floors, cathedral-style ceilings, clerestory windows, skylights, and multiple fireplaces.

The 8,772-square-foot residence has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a great room, media room, and a master suite with a sitting room and wet bar. The enormous kitchen is centered around a large marble-topped island and framed by a large bay window.

The house sits on a nearly one-acre lot with a grassy yard, a large patio and barbecue area, and a swimming pool and spa. There's also a two-car garage and a detached guest house. Asking price is $15.999 million.

Since moving out of the home, Witherspoon in particular has been quite active in the LA real estate market. In 2010, she purchased a Mandeville Canyon property from action star Steven Seagal, before flipping the land two years later. Then, in 2014, she sold a Brentwood estate and picked up a $12.7 million mansion in Pacific Palisades.
