Sprinkled throughout the architecturally rich hills surrounding the Silver Lake Reservoir are a handful of homes designed by Viennese visionary R.M. Schindler, one of which is now available for lease.

Known as the Walker Residence, the three-bedroom, two-bath house was constructed between 1935 and 1936 in a downslope cascade to take maximum advantage of the hillside view.

In the words of the listing, “Schindler's multi-level design allows one to experience the home as a sequence of spaces devoted to specific activities using interlocking planes and volumes, as well as expansive windows, mirrors and planters to blur the distinction between interior and exterior.”

The 1,902-square-foot home also features built-in furniture designed by the architect, two fireplaces, multiple decks and patios, and a two-car garage.

The Walker Residence sits almost directly below John Lautner's Silvertop house, and just a couple doors away from Schindler’s Droste Residence.

It’s now available for short-term lease, furnished or unfurnished, for $7,500 per month.
